Traine Farm Holiday Cottages are a small, select development of
self-catering properties offering excellent farm accommodation with
Wi-Fi internet access and a games room. Positioned in the South Hams,
Traine Farm Holiday Cottages are just a mile’s walk from the local
beach. They are situated in a superb location for South Devon
holidays; Dartmoor is a short distance away and Plymouth with its
excellent shops, restaurants and famous Theatre Royal is reached
within seven miles.
Come and enjoy the peace and tranquillity in beautiful surroundings
on a working farm. We offer quality 4 star accommodation set in 120
acres, a friendly atmosphere and lovely scenic views in an area of
outstanding natural beauty. Traine Farm overlooks the coastal
village of Wembury with its 15c Parish Church on the cliff above the
bay. The Post Office, village shop and pub are within easy walking
distance.
There’s a lot for visitors to see on a real working farm. Help to
collect the newly laid eggs, learn about where our food originates
or follow the farm trail and watch badgers on their twilight forays
around the pond.
Set in the courtyard, the games room is a great place to spend time
at the end of the day. Improve your fitness levels with a game of
table tennis, it's fun and adds to the holiday experience.
It’s an enviable location for Devon holidays, we provide very
comfortable accommodation and for people who enjoy walking it’s
ideal, being on the Erme/Plym trail, one mile from the South West
Coastal Path, with footpaths crossing the farm. Explore the South
Hams, the lovely beaches and picturesque villages, Dartmoor National
Park and the nearby National Trust property of Saltram.
Anthony Cottage ( sleeps 3-10)
It’s exciting to find a really spacious cottage for large families
or groups and this is what ‘Anthony' provides. It is the charming
wing of the Georgian farmhouse.

twin (bunks)
The layout is lots of fun; on the ground floor, there is an entrance
porch, huge lounge with inglenook fireplace and a sofa bed (sleeps
2), a separate large kitchen and new bathroom with a power shower.
Upstairs there are three bedrooms, a large double with king size
bed. Adjoining this room there is a further large bedroom with a
double and two singles or four divans and finally a twin room with a
bunk bed. There is a separate bathroom with a bath.
Clowberry Cottage ( sleeps up to 6)

The cottage with 4 star grading is just great for families or close
friends and enjoys a sunny south facing aspect overlooking the
courtyard area.

There is a delightful open plan lounge, dining area and fully fitted
kitchen. It has two very attractive bedrooms, one double with
standard double bed on the ground floor and a large bedroom on the
first floor with four single divans. The bathroom with both bath and
shower is located on the ground floor.
Cory & Calmady Cottages (each sleeps 4/5)
These two 4 star cottages adjacent to one another are ideal for both
couples and families.

Each enjoys a southerly aspect overlooking the courtyard. The
character accommodation offers spacious open plan living with a
lounge, dining area and fully fitted kitchen. Upstairs there is one
double and one twin with bunk beds. The bathroom is equipped with
both a bath and shower. An additional single bed can be provided
downstairs if required.
Rede Cottage ( sleeps 2/3)

Through the French windows opening onto a sunny patio, you have a
lovely sea view making Rede cottage an ideal summer retreat for a
couple.

This cosy 4 star cottage has an open plan layout with lounge and
fully fitted kitchen. Additionally the double bedroom and shower
room are also located on the ground floor. A third person can be
accommodated on the sofa bed in the living room.
At Traine Farm we want everyone to enjoy their holiday and
appreciate that accessible facilities ensure that everyone can
experience this beautiful rural part of South Devon.
Two of our cottages, Clowberry and Rede, both of which are
tastefully furnished have accessible features including downstairs
bedrooms and wet room bathrooms. There is a ramp providing easy
access into Clowberry whilst Rede is accessed on a level surface.
Good disabled parking is provided adjacent to the cottage.
At Traine Farm we are very conscious of the need to look after the
environment. We have protected it for generations and look forward
to sharing it with you. To help us protect it for future generations
we adhere to the Green Tourism Scheme and have won a bronze award.
We’re very proud of this as we understand that we all have to play
our part in looking after our planet and we hope you will too. As
part of the scheme we personally use local produce wherever
possible. If you can join us, this really helps our local community
to survive, reduces food miles and provides fair trade for all.
Reduced rates for smaller parties out of main season are available.
We are open all year round and are able to offer more flexible short
breaks/short winter lets in the quieter months, please
Babysitting is available on request.
Pets are welcome by arrangement outside of the school holidays for a
supplement of £35 per pet per week. This is subject to availability
of the two designated cottages where pets are allowed.
There is a metered charge for gas and electricity, which is payable
for bookings between 1st October and 31st May.
There is a wash down/laundry area which is especially useful for
washing down divers and cyclists equipment.
Bookings are usually weekly but mid-week and short breaks are
possible. Please call for details.
For the comfort of all guests we have a non smoking policy in the
cottages.
