Granary Cottage is situated along our farm driveway, a couple of paddocks away from the main house and at the bottom of the sloping garden of the Farm Cottage, at Lanton Hill. We are two miles from the small town of Jedburgh, which is on the A68 road between the A1 and Edinburgh. We are nine miles from Hawick ,on the A7,which is the main road between Carlisle and Edinburgh, so have good access to both sides of the motorway system from the south.

We run a kennelling business on the farm, Edward trains gun-dogs and these have been much admired the world over. He is a Kennel Club judge and Spaniel trialler. We have a great many visitors bringing their dogs for tuition, which can be fitted in to Edwards' busy schedule, as and when. Shooting is available in the area, at extra expense, of course. There are terrific walks in every direction, from the front door of the Granary, As are all the usual activities associated with the Borders ,ie. fishing ,golf, and researching the many ancient castles and follies up and down the river Teviot and the Tweed.

Edinburgh is fifty miles to the north and Berwick upon Tweed thirty five miles east. Holy Island, Bamburgh Castle and all the isolated Border hills and coast line are within easy daily reach........and no traffic! The views from Lanton Hill need seeing to believe, they are magnificent, all visitors commenting enthusiastically. We are just on 75 acres here, but the walks up onto the top of our hill are always rewarding. We have a year round policy of bird feeding, enjoying a wonderful selection of some quite unusual species.

The Granary is a newly converted ancient granary building; it has been completed to a high standard of care and comfort, with spacious kitchen, with Rayburn cooker and microwave, dish washer, washer/dryer, fridge/freezer and all the usual cupboards and drawers etc. The two double bedrooms are on the ground floor, one with double bed and the other twin beds, all wool carpets throughout, double glazed and lined curtains. The upstairs gallery sitting room runs the length of the building ,with an extensive library at one end and huge wood-burning stove at the other. The whole building is centrally heated. The sitting room has a large comfortable
three piece suite, occasional tables, music centre and TV with Freeview box, occasional chairs and small sofa bed-settee, should children or an extra person require accommodating. All wool Afghan and Turkish carpets. Door to garden upstairs.

The Granary is our only letting property and it is looked after to a very high standard, by ourselves; we are here on hand to help with any queries and to help our guests enjoy a peaceful and enjoyable time here in this lovely and unsung part of Great Britain.

Dogs are welcome, at Granary Cottage, one or two in house, but multiples we prefer to stay in the large airy indoor kennels.
