This delightful traditional Scottish detached holiday cottage is located in a secluded part of Ross-shire, and enjoys lovely open views both from the front and the back . It has an enclosed lawned garden looking out towards the mountains - you can admire the beautiful scenery and wildlife or simply just enjoy the grazing lambs morning and afternoon. The area is rich in wildlife in this part of Scotland there is a variety of birds, pine martens, foxes, seals, red and roe deer are commonly seen while relaxing and walking in these magnificent Highland surroundings.

Whatever your inspiration may be - walking, climbing, golf, painting - whether a family filled holiday or to get away from it all or quietly pursuing your favourite pastime, Forglen Cottage is a warm, cosy holiday cottage and welcomes you whatever your needs.
The village of Poolewe (0.5 mile from the cottage) is set amongst some of the most magnificent scenery in Britain and has three hotels where meals are available, local shops and Post Office (with public phone), and a heated swimming pool.
There are a number of clean sandy beaches. Other activities available in the area include golf, fishing, walking, climbing, pony trekking and boat trips.

The Cottage:
The entrance has a porch for shoes and coats which leads to the lounge, which is comfortably furnished with a real open fire providing a romantic atmosphere on cold evenings. There is a colour TV, DVD, video and a cassette library plus a large selection of games and puzzles. A CD player and some tapes are also provided and a small library to make the wet and icy winter weather much easier.

The main bedroom has a large window overlooking superb scenery. It has a pine double bed, wardrobe, two chest of draws for bedside lamps. Duvets, duvet covers, pillows and all bed linen and blankets are provided - a hairdryer is also available .

The twin bedrooms have two single pine beds looking out to the front scenery, with pine wardrobe, two chest of draws and two bedside lamps.

The kitchen and dining area is open plan which has a big bright window to admire the stunning views whilst dining. It is decorated in a country style with a Welsh dresser giving it a lovely warm atmosphere and includes electric cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, coffee maker, electric kettle, toaster, sandwich maker, pots, pans, cutlery and a whole range of kitchen utensils. It also has drying facilities both outside and inside .

The bathroom downstairs is neatly furnished in pine accessories, having a bath with bath shower, wc, handbasin and a shaving point.

The third family bedroom is the attic room which is very spacious and airy. It has one double bed and two single beds with a wardrobe and two chest of draws. It is very comfortable room and has a CD / radio / cassette player, toys and a quiet reading area with two armchairs. It has windows overlooking scenery to the back and the front

The newly fitted bathroom upstairs is fresh and spacious with, wc and hand basin with a velux window. The bathroom being adjacent to the family bedroom makes it ideal for small children.

Please note:
Heating is by electricity with additional open fire. 1st bucket of coal for open fire supplied, further supplies can be obtained from the local shop.Sorry no smoking is allowed in the cottage. Highchair and cot available.Generous off road parking area. All beds are provided with duvets, duvets covers, linen blankets and two pillows per person.Four pieces of towelling are also provided per person. If you have any special requirements please contact us to discuss.One small pet is welcome by arrangement at an extra cost.


To book this property, the owners require a 50% deposit of the total holiday let cost, with the full balance to be paid no less than 1 month before the holiday is due.
A damages deposit of £100 per week is payable separately on top of the balance of the hire fee, which will be returned providing there are no breakages or damage to the property. Any breakages or damage will be deducted at cost and the balance returned.
