Looking towards the farm               Your holiday cottages

Markwell Farm Cottages, Saltash
Two traditional stone barns converted into four, individually designed cottages.
Sleeping 2 to 6 people in peaceful surroundings.

In the heart of South-East Cornwall, these two traditional stone barns dating from the eighteenth century have recently undergone a sympathetic and quality conversion, and provide an excellent base for exploring all that Cornwall has to offer. Each has the benefit of outstanding south facing views over some of the finest countryside in Cornwall. They are all furnished with traditional pine. Electricity, including heating, and bed linen (duvets) provided. A travel cot is available by prior arrangement. There is ample off road parking and a garden with separate patio furniture for each cottage. Two barbecues are provided for guests use.

We recommend you enjoy this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for at least part of your stay at Markwell. Individually colour coded marked walks allow different sections of the farm to be explored. There are fantastic opportunities to view wildlife and the transition between fresh and salt-water marshes. Most of the river boundaries lie within a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Wild animals you are likely to see include roe deer, foxes and badgers living on the farm. Two walks pass large freshwater ponds, both stocked with carp and tench, and playing host to many of the birds inhabiting the area.

Other attractions worth a visit are the National Trust properties of Anthony House and the Tudor mansion of Cotehele, built between 1485-1539. During a trip to the beaches and coves of the pretty South Cornish Coast, don't forget the Museum of Smuggling at the ever-popular fishing village of Polperro.

Other places well worth visiting are Plymouth, with it’s many attractions, and, of course, the world famous Eden Project.

There are many sporting activities to enjoy,  including golf, clay pigeon shooting and fishing.
