Oak-Dale, Ardaneaskan, Lochcarron, Strathcarron, Ross-Shire.
2 Rural Cottages and Caravan, sleeping 6, 5 and 6.

Ardaneaskan is a picturesque crofting village on the North shore of Loch Carron. Its scenery includes views of the Cuillin Hills of Skye, Plockton village (famous for the recent TV programme Hamish Macbeath) and Duncraig Castle. This small village boasts many sightings of pine martins, otters, seals, deer and eagles making it a paradise for hill walkers and bird enthusiasts. Only a five mile journey from Ardaneaskan will take you to Lochcarron, a lovely village set out in 18th century style along the loch-side. Beyond this village stretches Glen Carron, a magnificent corridor of glacier-carved Munros, well known to keen hill walkers. Lochcarron will provide all your daily requirements, including grocers, bank, post office, butchers and garage. Hotels and restaurants provide excellent cuisine including take-away facilities, all offer a warm welcome to non-residents.

Ardaneaskan provides an excellent base to visit some of the North West Highland's most advertised tourist attractions, including Eilean Donan Castle, Torridon Hills and Deer Park National Nature Reserve, (Beinn Eighe) Inverewe Gardens, Isle of Skye, Loch Maree, and Glenelg Brochs. Bealach Na Ba (Pass of the Cattle) - This road offers superb panoramic views at a height of 625m above Kishorn and Applecross, Applecross is one of the earliest seats of Christianity in Scotland. Followers of St Maelrubha are buried in the old church yard. From Strathcarron Railway station 10 miles away you may take a short journey to Kyle of Lochalsh or Plockton which will take you round the south shore of Loch Carron, providing a glorious view of Ardaneaskan with the loch in the foreground. Torridon Mountains, Slioch, An Teallach, Stac Pollaidh, Suilven and Arkle need no introduction to most hill walkers and climbers, while nestling at their feet lie beautiful lochs like Loch Maree, Loch Assynt and Loch Stack.

Ullapool is a vibrant fishing village, which lies on a narrow peninsula extending into Loch Broom creating for itself a natural harbour. The main ferry link to the Western Isles runs from here. Ullapool's museum trail leads visitors around the village, where a walkman tape tour is also available. Ullapool also sports a leisure centre and swimming pool. Gairloch with its many attractions, includes lovely sandy beaches and the award winning Gairloch museum housing exhibits illustrating the past life of the Parish. Golfing, sailing, boating, fishing, mountain biking and walking are all popular activities in the area. Other things of interest include Lochcarron Weavers, Carron Pottery, Wester Ross Pottery, Smithy Heritage Centre, Ardaneaskan Croft Museum, and the Blythswood Bookshop.
