Downhouse Farm Holiday Cottages, are set in the grounds of an old farm, amongst quiet and peaceful Devonshire countryside between Dartmoor and the Tamar Valley, in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
The market town of Tavistock and the hub of local life is within 5 minutes reach, with Plymouth and the beautiful beaches of the north and south coasts nearby.
We have stables available for those of you who wish to bring your horses or ponies and well behaved dogs are welcome here. Other facilities nearby include; golf courses, organised riding stables, fisheries, cycle hire, swimming pool and tennis courts. With the moors only minutes away, the properties are also ideal for walking and riding holidays.
There are many places of interest just a short distance away, including the world famous Eden Project, Morwellham Quay, Lydford Gorge and Cotehele.

The Cottages: The 18th C cottages, originally built from local stone, were refurbished in January 2002 and are fully equipped to a very high standard which includes; full central heating, wood burners in the living area, colour TV and video players. The bathrooms have separate power shower cubicles as well as a standard size bath. In the kitchen you will find washer/dryer, fridge/freezer dishwasher and microwave together with oven, hob and fully fitted kitchen. Each cottage has its own garden area with furniture and a portable BBQ, with ample parking.
All bed linen and tea towels included, please bring your own towels, or hire them from us.

Dove Cottage: 4 Bedrooms, sleeps 8. Facilities as above. Bedrooms are laid out as 2 doubles (1 en-suite), and 2 twin. Family bathroom as described. Very spacious cottage, ideal for couples or families.

Moor View Cottage: 3 Bedrooms, sleeps 6. Facilities as above. Bedrooms are laid out as 2 doubles and 1 twin with large bunk beds. Family bathroom. Very spacious cottage, ideal for couples or families.

Calf Cottage: 4 Bedrooms, sleeps 8,  Facilities as above. Bedrooms are laid out as 2 doubles (1 en-suite), 2 twin, 1 family bathroom as described.  Very spacious cottage, ideal for couples or families.

The Parlour: 3 Bedrooms, sleeps 6, Facilities as above. Bedrooms are laid out as 1 double ( en-suite), 1 twin, 1 with 3' bunk beds, 1 family bathroom as described. Very spacious cottage, ideal for couples or families.
