Located approximately 2½ miles from junction 13 off the M5 at Old Whitminster, now known as Wheatenhurst, by the Stroudwater Canal. The Whitminster House Estate has 7 cottages of varying sizes, including the spacious Elizabethan Walk Farm House which has been sympathetically divided into 4 separate cottages, making it particularly suitable for larger parties. There is also an apartment for up to 10 people on 2 floors in the West Wing of the Manor House. The village is approximately a mile away, where you will find a convenience store and three pubs, with larger supermarkets slightly further afield. The area is rich in history, with numerous historic houses to visit including Berkeley Castle, Sudeley Castle, Chavenage, Stanway and Woodchester; there are also numerous cathedrals and abbeys including Gloucester, Hereford, Worcester, Tewkesbury, Bath and Winchester. For gardeners, visit Hidcote Manor, Painswick Rococo Garden, Spetchley Park, and Westbury, all of whom open their gardens to visitors in season. The National Trust also have many locations throughout the region. There are numerous annual events and arts programmes within easy reach- Cheltenham races-Badminton and Gatcombe Horse Trials-The Three Choirs-Cheltenham Music and Literary festivals, the Theatre Royal at Bath, Shakespeare Theatre at Stratford -on- Avon, and the Birmingham Concert Hall to name but a few. For the more active-dry skiing at the Gloucester Country Club-several good golf courses in the county with scenic views-trail riding or dressage training-variety of activities on offer near Gloucester or at Moreton-in-the-Marsh including quad bikes, shooting, archery and ballooning. Water sports at the Cotswold Water Park-Course fishing (free on the estate)-wine tasting at 3 English vineyards-Falconry displays at Newent. The area has much to offer the younger visitors too, with Bristol Zoo, Cadburys World, Alton Towers, the caves at Cheddar Gorge, the Cotswold Wildlife Park and cruises on the canal at Gloucester docks.

The Accommodation: 
Walk Farmhouse sleeps 9/10 people in 5 bedrooms, there is double en-suite, a very large twin with single sofa bed, a single, and 2 further attic bedrooms approached by very steep stairs, one is a double and one a twin. There is a large sitting room with colour TV/video and telephone, an open fireplace and a spacious fully fitted kitchen/dining room.  The farmhouse has 2 further separate bathrooms, each with an electric shower over the bath. Ample parking and a good size lawn area. Walk Farmhouse and Walk House can be opened through together for larger parties.

Walk House sleeps 7/8 people in 4 bedrooms; there are two doubles and a single with extra sofa bed on the first floor, and a further twin in the attic. The house has a large, comfortable sitting room with colour TV/video and telephone, a fully equipped kitchen / dining room, and 2 bathrooms. There is parking for 2/3 cars, and an open fenced lawn.

Walk Close, wheelchair friendly and all on one level, sleeps 2/3 in 2 bedrooms. There is a double and a single with a chair bed for occasional use, a light and cosy sitting room with colour TV/video and telephone in the hallway, a fully equipped kitchen / dining room and a large bathroom with a wheelchair accessible shower.

Old Stables Cottage sleeps 2 to 4+ in 2 double bedrooms, and a large double sofa bed if required in the spacious sitting room. There is a spacious sitting room on the first floor with colour TV/video, and a fully fitted kitchen / dining room on the ground floor, and a bathroom. Outside there is parking for 1/2 cars and a garden area.

Lodge Cottage sleeps 3/4 in 2 bedrooms, one twin and one double. There is a sitting room with colour TV/video, open fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen with a small separate dining room, and bathroom.

Church Cottage sleeps up to 6 people in 3 bedrooms, 2 twins and a double; there is an open plan sitting / dining area, open fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom. There is ample parking, a private garden and extensive views.

West Wing Apartment sleeps from 2 to 10. A double and twin on the first floor and 2 doubles and a twin on the second floor, in all 3 double bedrooms and 2 twin bedrooms. The first floor may be booked on its own for up to 4 visitors, or both floors for parties up to 10. (the second floor is never let separately). For larger parties of 14 and up to 16, this property combines very well with the Old Stables cottage which is just steps across the parking area from the West Wing Apartment.
