In the tiny, quiet hamlet of Pardshaw, the cottage is situated on the edge of the Lake District National Park, about ¾  of a mile south of Cockermouth, a designated "GEM" town. The area is rich in bridleways, quiet country lanes and fell paths, and makes a perfect location for cycling, walking and bird watching in any season. The property overlooks the historical Pardshaw Crag, a limestone feature of geological, botanical and scenic interest which gives superb views across the Solway plain, the Dumfries and Galloway hills with the coast beyond and the western Lake District fells. The nearest lake is Loweswater, which is just three miles away, and Scafell, Great Gable and the Ennerdale Fells are all within easy reach. The Solway coast, and Ravenglass with it's light railway, are easily accessible. There is a pub within walking distance, about a quarter of a mile, and the nearest shops are 3 miles. The towns of Workington and Whitehaven are within a short drive, and there is a variety of restaurants and pubs near to hand.

The Cottage: is a single dwelling forming part of an 18th century converted barn, which adjoins the owners garden. Cosy and comfortably furnished, with one double bedroom and a shower room with basin and WC. The lounge with dining area has a TV, video and stereo/radio/cassette player, and the fitted kitchen has an electric cooker, washing machine / dryer and a microwave. Outside, there is use of the garden which has a seat, good clothes drying facilities and use of Pardshaw Crag. There is off road parking for one car, and secure storage for bicycles on request.
