Hill House is a traditional croft house built of stone. There are stunning scenic views inland to the hills of Wester Ross and out to sea to the Summer Isles, Skye and the Outer Hebrides. A recent Automobile Association stated: "North West Scotland's scenery is about as good as it gets.....majestic mountains sweep down to a wondrously wild and miraculously unspoilt coast". There are abundant walking opportunities both along the coast and in the surrounding hills. There is a shop within 2 miles, a pub within walking distance, and the smokehouse in Altandhu sells many different types of smoked cheese, fish and meats. The house is situated about 200 metres above the Achiltibuie - Reiff road, a five minute walk over a field uphill from the road so it is not suitable for the unathletic. Most people love it, but a small minority fail to appreciate it's unique situation and are put off by it's rugged simplicity.

Altandhu is about 2½ hours drive north west from Inverness and 40 minutes north from Ullapool.

The House: has basic mod-cons, (flush toilet, bath) electricity and storage heating, and is ideal for people intending to spend most of the time outdoors. The owners family have been using it for holidays for the last 35 years. Downstairs there is a kitchen, bathroom and sitting room, and it is very basically furnished with some of the furniture being made of driftwood. Upstairs, there are 2 bedrooms, each with 2 beds.
