On the edge of the Peak District National Park, in 8 acres of farmland, this recently converted barn enjoys an elevated, rural location in a small, picturesque valley , just off a quiet country lane. There are excellent walks in all directions, including the Gritstone Trail, or you may prefer to cycle or horse-ride, hire facilities for both being available just a few miles away. The small, unspoilt town of Bollington,  is less than five minutes away which boasts many varied activities and facilities; there is a variety of shops, good pubs and restaurants, and a good leisure centre with swimming pool. Golf is available at several different course in the area. Just 10 minutes drive away is Macclesfield, another of the many former silk producing towns throughout the region. Larger than Bollington, it has a main line rail station, regular bus service, leisure centre, museums and a comprehensive shopping area.

A short drive away from Higher Ingersley you will find multitude of interesting things to see and do; within 10 miles you can see the historic country houses of Elizabeth Gawsworth Hall, Little Moreton Hall, Capesthorne Hall, Tatton Park and Lyme Park; or visit the Jodrell Bank Radio Telescope and the Macclesfield Silk Museums. Slightly further afield is Chatsworth (home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire), Haddon Hall, the Roman city of Chester, the spa towns of Buxton and Matlock,  Alton Towers, or the city of Manchester (home to the 2002 commonwealth games). There are many renowned potteries scattered throughout the area, or of course you can simply stay home and enjoy the tranquility and surrounding countryside of your holiday home.

Higher Ingersley Barn: is next to the owners 17th century farmhouse and is very well positioned for the many and varied amenities in this beautiful part of the country, with stunning views all around. Converted from a hay and cattle barn in 2001, it has been finished to a very high standard whilst retaining it's charm and character with exposed beams in most rooms. The main entrance leads in to the utility room complete with sink, washing machine, tumble dryer and payphone, with plenty of storage space for outdoor clothing. Off this is a cloakroom with WC and basin.

The kitchen is fully equipped with full oven, dishwasher, microwave, fridge and freezer, and of course all essential equipment that you will need. Next to the kitchen is the dining hall with French doors leading on to the patio, and there is a spacious and comfortably furnished lounge area approached from the dining hall via a spiral staircase, which has a gas fire, large colour TV, video, music centre and sofa bed. There are three double bedrooms, all of which are en suite; one has a king size bed, the second has twin beds and the third a double bed, with all of the bathrooms having power showers.

Outside: The barn has it's own private garden with paved patio, sitting area and parking for four cars.
