Cross Tree House, is a beautiful 17th century thatched farmhouse built from hamstone, and takes its name from the cross outside, where Cardinal Wolsey was put in the stocks for getting drunk at the village fair. It has many original features including flagstone floors, beamed ceilings, inglenook fireplace etc. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with robust antique furniture and Turkish rugs. It is ideal for house parties, large families, 2 or 3 families on holiday together, group courses and activities, re-unions etc. It can comfortably accommodate 14 to 20 people.
There is a private walled garden, croquet lawn and paddock, and is surrounded by lovely countryside with a profusion of historic houses, abbeys and gardens. To the south are the rolling hills of Dorset and to the north, the fascinating levels and moors.

The Property: Has an entrance hall with Georgian staircase, 2 sitting rooms (one with open fire), TV, video, hi-fi and piano. There is a back hall with a payphone, a pantry with tumble dryer, washing machine, and a passage leading to a WC and back door.
There is a large fully equipped kitchen with a gas fired Aga in an inglenook fireplace, two oak refectory tables capable of seating 24, plus a window seat. A scullery off this has a gas cooker, microwave, 2 fridges, deep freeze, dishwasher and large Belfast sink, plus a full range of utensils and cookware. The ground floor has flagstone floors throughout, except for the sitting rooms which are carpeted.
The first floor has 5 double bedrooms, (2 with an additional single bed, 1 with 2 additional single beds). Also on this floor is a bathroom with shower & WC and a separate shower room with WC. The top floor has a further 2 doubles, each with a single bed added.
