Romantic, 400 year old Grade 2 listed cottages full of charm, character and quality. All cottages have ancient oak beams, exposed stone, fully equipped oak kitchens, period bathrooms, sumptuous furnishings, full gas central heating and double glazing, colour TV, oven, hob, microwave and dishwasher. Small cottages have a fridge with freezer compartment; large cottages have a separate fridge and freezer. Grounds of ¾ of an acre with a delightful walled garden and larger riverside paddock, barbecues and plenty of garden furniture, laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer. On your arrival, you will find your cottage warm; beds made up, and a welcome tray. 

The Elizabethan Farm House sleeps 8 people in 4 bedrooms, has exposed beams, flag stone floors, oak panelling and an original Jacobean court cupboard. The elegant dining room seats 8 people and makes an ideal setting for a special occasion such as Christmas or New Year. The farm house stands in a private garden enjoying glorious fell views. 

Cottages: The magnificent Scafell Cottage, sleeps 8/9, also offers a wealth of period features as well as 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, and the splendid Wastwater Cottage, sleeps 6/7 in 3 bedrooms, has an enormous 30ft living room, with high ceiling, exposed trusses and stonework, dining area, large patio window leading to private patio with garden furniture and glorious fell views. Kitchen, double bedroom, bathroom, large master king size bedroom with arch to dressing room and en suite bathroom, twin bedded room. Hardnott Cottage, 1 bedroom, sleeps 2/4, Stanley Ghyll Cottage and Whillan Beck each sleeps 2 in 1 bedroom, and Wrynose sleeps 2/3 in 1 bedroom.

A glorious setting in Eskdale, Lakeland's finest valley, nestling beneath Scafell Pike (England's highest mountain), a pleasant walk from Wastewater (England's deepest lake), and beside the tumbling Whillan Beck in the picturesque hamlet of Boot, with its traditional cosy inns. Hike up a different mountain each day or stroll along one of the many gentle, valley, woodland or riverside walks. In summer swim in the crystal clear rock pools of the River Esk and Whillan beck.
